FilmWatcher.com
They think they are "the only shorts site where you can download the films!" Uh, not quite guys, but this is a really fast site to navigate and get right down to the free watching. Short independent films are in Windows Media Player, QuickTime, and RealVideo formats, but look before you leap if you have a preference. (Despite all the other data on their pages, FilmWatchers just assumes you have everything and doesn't give you a choice of formats like some other sites. Nice site!

Interesting site features:
Post your own films
Post comments on anything
Lots of links

Forest J. Ackerman
Forrie is just your average American Ultimate Fantastic Monsters of Filmland high priest. No one is more qualified on the subject of Dracula's cape or Metropolis, mainly because Forrie probably still has both the cape and the Maria robot living deep in the bowels of the Ackermuseum. Seriously, as a magazine publisher in the the late fifties, Ackerman made science fiction come alive and gain a sense of humor. He's a hero to every monster fan alive (or dead). [Me included. Bless your craven heart, Forrie! Ed.]
Interesting site features:
The Origin of Sci-Fi and all the rest

Forest J. Ackerman at Sci-Fi Slacker
The Ackermuseum is sometimes down, so here's an excellent alternative. Sci-Fi Slacker himself recounts a visit to meet Forrie and tour the collection. Well written with lots of cool photos.
Interesting site features:
The rest of the Sci-Fi Slacker site

Fox Movie Channel
Fox really may surprise you here. For those who haven't found it yet, FMC shows many Fox films that you won't run into at AMC or TCM. Like AMC, most cable viewers have FMC as part of a regular package. They also have access to more modern films than the others, but excellent classics turn up every week on FMC.

A sensible, easy schedule page.
