Khomeini Estate Drops Lawsuit |

May 15th, Tehran,
Iran - The Iranian Government announced that the estate of the
former Iranian ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini has dropped pending
litigation over a 1994 CD cover published by fLAtDiSk SoftWorks
for Revolting, a yet-to-be-released EP by the mod group
Mob of Proletariat. The cover, designed by MOP members
Fat Crater and Hellas, depicts the now-dead Iranian religious leader in
a collage mixture of entertainment and political figures. Mob of
Proletariat first appeared on the US mod scene in 1994 when
their Protracker hit "Gun Control" was posted on the
then-fledgling AOL network. The Revolting EP, (originally titled
"Meet The Mob"), was never released due to the complete
disappearance of all members of the group in 1995. Their last known
release was a ScreamTracker .S3M called The Black Opal (1937).
fLAtDiSk SoftWorks Under Assistant West Coast Promotion
Director Huntley Haverstock remarked that fLAtDiSk was
very surprised by the decision: "We had no idea they were suing
anybody. That project is as dead as that fathead ayatollah. Nobody even
knew where the members of Mob of Proletariat were until
last month: we had heard that nomadic tribesmen in Xanthe overran their
city back in 1995. We assumed they were all killed in the riots. Then
they came through with a new single .IT file called Hysterics.
I guess we're all happy for them, whoever they are.." |
