fLAtDiSk Privacy Policy

In this document, "fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk" refers to fLAtDiSk SoftWorks and the owner of all fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk web sites. "Web site" refers to a specific location on the Internet. "Internet Service Provider" and "ISP" refer to the web hosting companies contracted to provide server space for fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk web sites. "URL" refers to Uniform Resource Locator, AKA Universal Resource Locator, being a unique address for a file or web site that is accessible on the Internet. "Visitors" refers to persons accessing fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk web sites on the Internet. "Link" refers to the standard method used on the Internet to transport a visitor from one web page to another. "Personal information" refers to specific user names, passwords, home addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, credit card numbers, and email addresses. "Web statistics" refers to a record of web site activity, excluding personal information. "Traffic" refers to web site activity, including the number of hits, unique visitors, return visitors and other web statistics. "Secure and passworded" refers to the standard method of limiting access to web-based data. "Outside parties" refers to any and all companies, agencies and individuals other than fLAtDiSk SoftWorks and the owner of all fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk web sites.

The following policy applies to all fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk URLs, including www.flatdisk.net, www.flatrich.com, www.richlabonte.net, www.orsonradio.com, related web sites, subwebs and web pages.

fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk sites do not employ "web bugs" or any other device or code that might reveal personal information about a visitor.

fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk sites do not generate adware or spyware of any kind. All fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk sites are scanned daily by our ISP for viruses, adware and spyware and locally prior to web publication. All downloadable materials (music files, PDF files, ZIP files etc.) provided for visitors by fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk are scanned prior to server upload and daily by our ISP.

Visitors are encouraged to report any suspected viruses or links from fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk to websites that do generate adware or spyware or contagious viruses. All virus reports will be investigated immediately and links to all unsafe sites will be removed from fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk immediately.

If a visitor does choose to provide us with personal information by sending email to us through a fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk website or related fLAtDiSk email address, fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk will use that information only to respond to your message. fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk will not provide or give or sell your email address or any information you provide to any private or public organizations. fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk will not collect your email address for marketing purposes or place your email address on a mailing list.

Some fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk web sites provide links (various "link" pages) to sites not under the control of fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk. Visitors should be aware that sites owned and operated by outside parties may deploy tracking devices to gather information. fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk does avoid linking to sites found to be unsafe, untrustworthy, or generally unwholesome. fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk takes no responsibility for web sites owned or operated by outside parties and does not monitor privacy policies of web sites owned or operated by outside parties.

The ISP network servers supporting fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk derive daily web statistics and record them in standard HTTP access logs. This method of tracking usage does not take personal information about visitors. Access to fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk ISP server log content is secure and passworded and fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk does not provide this information to outside parties.

Some fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk sites carry links to fLAtDiSk-related Facebook pages. Please see the Facebook homepage (www.facebook.com) for more information about how Facebook tracks visitors. Access to fLAtDiSk-related Facebook pages is secure and passworded and fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk does not provide Facebook statistical information to outside parties.

Most banner ads that appear on fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk sites link to other fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk and related third party sites and are only intended to make visitors aware of other fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk and related sites to provide a quick link to those sites. fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk banners do not employ tracking methods used by commercial advertisers to collect personal information about visitors, surreptitiously or otherwise.

Some fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk sites carry ads for products sold through Zazzle.com These are standard Zazzle user account ads and materials and may carry a specific account number back to Zazzle for click-through tracking purposes. Please see the Zazzle site at http://www.zazzle.com/mk/policy/privacy_policy for more information about Zazzle policies. Access to Zazzle user account statistical content is secure and passworded and fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk does not provide this information to outside parties. fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk has no control over tracking devices used by Zazzle.com or any outside parties on their own servers.

Some fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk web sites currently display banners for the American Red Cross urging donations for the relief of victims of recent disasters. License to display these banners was granted by the American Red Cross and all such banners link directly to American Red Cross servers. fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk has no control over tracking devices used by the American Red Cross or any outside parties on pages generated their own web sites. Information on the American Red Cross can be found at the American Red Cross website (http://www.redcross.org).

Some fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk web sites may employ voluntary forms and polls as tools for collecting non-personal information. The purpose of collecting this information and the usage of information derived from these forms and polls is specifically indicated on the web sites employing these tools. Polls internal to fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk gather no personal information.

BTW, fLAtDiSk SoftWorks (created in 1977) and fLAtDiSk NeTWoRk (created in the 1990s) are in no way associated with, or related to, the young Italian DJs who recently started using the name Flatdisk. We are flattered, of course. Hey! Buona fortuna con quello, you guys!
